1.1 Vision & Mission

Examine the Vision and Mission of our Church, their significance, and how they guide congregational life and personal growth. Through reflection and analysis, you will identify how your individual gifts and participation can contribute to living out our Church’s Vision and Mission.

2.1 The Revelation of God

Examine how God reveals Himself through creation, history, Scripture, and Jesus Christ, and how these revelations shape our understanding of His nature and character. Reflect on faith as a living relationship with God, strengthened through trust, Scripture, prayer, and even the honest questions and doubts we encounter.

2.2 The Creed: Confessing our Faith

Through this self-study, you will come to understand the meaning, purpose, and biblical foundations of the Creed and the Ten Articles of Faith, and how they express and unite our Christian faith. Through reflection and ministry application, consider how to faithfully teach the Creed in ways that connect doctrine with Scripture, personal faith, and daily life.

2.3 The Trinity

Explore the mystery of the triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and the distinct work of each Person in creation, salvation, and the life of the Church. This classroom will support you in developing a deeper understanding of the Trinity and consider how this truth shapes faith, relationships, and ministry.

2.4 Ministry

This self-study explores the biblical foundations, responsibilities, and history of ordained ministry, with particular attention to the apostle ministry, the role of women in ministry, and how all believers are called to use their God-given gifts in service to others.

2.5 The Sacraments

Discover the meaning, purpose, and mystery of Holy Baptism, Holy Communion, and Holy Sealing as acts of God’s grace that draw believers into fellowship with Him and His Church. Consider how each sacrament shapes faith, identity, discipleship, and our calling to live and serve as followers of Christ.

2.6 Future Life

This classroom session examines the biblical and doctrinal understanding of the soul, life after death, salvation, and the return of Christ. Consider how these beliefs, along with the mystery and uncertainty surrounding future life, shape our faith and pastoral care for others.

2.7 Being a Christian in Society

This self-study works you through the Christian’s relationship with society and authority through the Tenth Article of Faith and the fourfold call of 1 Peter 2:17 to honor others, love the Christian community, fear God, and respect worldly authorities while remaining faithful to God.

3.1 Basic history of the Holy Spirit

This classroom module uncovers the identity and history of the Holy Spirit, equipping you to engage the Spirit in preaching, personal spiritual growth, and soul care.

3.2 Holy Spirit activity – before Christ

This self-study explores how the Holy Spirit worked through individuals in the Old Testament, particularly in prophecy, wisdom, empowerment, guidance, and transformation, while examining His purpose and activity before Christ.

3.3 Holy Spirit activity – time of Christ

This group discussion unpacks the Holy Spirit’s essential role in the incarnation and mission of Jesus Christ, including His preparation, anointing, empowerment, and ongoing presence throughout Christ’s earthly ministry. It also examines key encounters between Jesus and the Holy Spirit that affirm His identity and mission.

3.4 Holy Spirit activity – after Christ

Through this self-study you will learn of the Holy Spirit’s activity after Christ, focusing on His role in revealing truth, guiding and empowering the early Church, expanding the gospel to all people, and providing wisdom for doctrinal and practical decisions.

3.5 Holy Spirit activity – today

This classroom lecture explores how the Holy Spirit should guide preaching and pastoral care, emphasizing that the message should point to Christ, eternal life, transformation, and God’s will. It also examines the power of the Holy Spirit in ministry and preaching, identified through quality, awareness, and persuasive power.

3.6 Holy Spirit – introspection

This self-study invites personal reflection on how the Holy Spirit influences your life, relationships, decisions, prayer, and ministry. It encourages intentional engagement with the Holy Spirit in daily living and in the preparation and delivery of ministry.
